Summer 2003
Wild Writing Women Retreat
Photos from Le Lavandou

We stayed in a luxury villa for a week in Le Lavandou, courtesy of our friend Maureen Wheeler. We explored Le Lavandou and the surrounding area by car as train service bypasses the area many kilometers north. It makes the region quite a lot more exclusive than the French Riviera, and there are many hillside villas, vacation cottages, and campgrounds.

Lisa takes the trail (piéton, or gaou) to the beach for an early morning walk and snorkle in the clear waters. Though not as pristine as Port Cros, Le Lavandou's waters are fairly rich with schools of fish and green sea grass.
